Animal Shelter
The shelter provides temporary housing to lost and unwanted animals until they can be reunited with their owner or placed in the adoption program. The shelter issues all City of Rowlett pet registrations. Fees incurred due to adoption, redemption and registration help to fund shelter services.

The Rowlett Animal Services Division's primary function is to promote animal safety through responsible pet ownership education. The enforcement of Texas State laws and City of Rowlett Code of Ordinances is another responsibility as well.
