Members
The Tax-Increment Finance District Board is comprised of five regular members appointed by City Council, one of whom shall be appointed by the governing body of the Garland Independent School District (GISD), and one of whom shall be appointed by the Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD). The terms are for two years or until their successors are appointed by the respective governing bodies.

Time Commitment
The Tax-Increment Financing District Board meets once a year typically in April of each year.
Board Responsibilities
The Tax-Increment Finance District Board serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council with respect to TIF Zone matters. Members receive periodic reports on taxes assessed and collected for the TIF, review project costs and project plans, and recommend financing strategies for such plans.
