How do I report potholes?
Potholes in street and alleys should be reported to the Citizen Action Center at 972-463-CITY (2489) or visit the
Citizen Action Center
website.

Does the Street Department maintain the sidewalk in front of my house?
No, per City Ordinance, the abutting property owner is responsible for maintaining the sidewalk. To assist in maintaining these areas the Street Department manages a 50/50 cost share program. For more information, contact the Street Department at 972-412-6287.

Who do I call before I start digging in my yard?
Call 1-800-DIG-TESS (344-8377), Leroy Johnson with the City of Rowlett at 214-733-4645 and Garland Independent School District at 972-494-8201.

Who mows the City’s property?
The Parks Department oversees all of the mowing in the City. You may contact the Parks Department at 972-412-6145 for more information.
5.
What should I know about high water covering streets or alleys?
The Street Department provides barricades for high water and as requested by the Police Department. If you are not sure about the depth of the water at any location, do not drive through it.
6.
How do I report debris in the street or alley?
Contact the Citizen Action Center at 972-463-CITY (2489) and crews will be dispatched to remove the debris.
7.
Does the Street Department sweep the residential streets?
No. The City has a contractor who sweeps only the arterial streets bimonthly.
8.
Who is responsible for the Red Light Cameras?
The Police Department is responsible for maintaining the Red Light Cameras, if you have any questions, please call 972-412-6200.
9.
Will the City of Rowlett sand my street during icy weather?
We do not sand residential streets. The Street Department's first priority is to sand bridges, major intersections and steep inclines on arterial streets. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is responsible for sanding the bridges along Lakeview Parkway (SH 66).
