The Training Coordinator for the Rowlett Police Department is Sgt. Michael Godfrey. It is his responsibility along with the assistance of the many TCLEOSE certified instructors in the department to provide updated and timely training to both sworn and non-sworn personnel.

Sergeant Godfrey began his career with the Terrell Police Department in 1996 where he was recognized as Officer of the Year in 1998. He became a Rowlett Police Officer in 1999.
In addition to his duties as a patrolman, Sgt. Godfrey has also worked in specialty fields including Field Training Officer, Simunition Supervisor/Safety Officer, Crisis Negotiation Team, Crime Scene Investigations Unit, and Mental Health Officer. He is certified through the Cooper Institute in Physical Fitness Instruction. Sgt. Godfrey holds an Advanced Peace Officer Certification and Law Enforcement Instructor License.
Sgt. Godfrey was recognized as Officer of the Year in 2003 and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in October 2005. Sgt. Godfrey can be reached at 972-412-6248 or by email.
