Honor Guard

The Rowlett Police Department's Honor Guard is comprised of officers from the Special Weapons and Tactics Team. The Honor Guard performs military style honors at funeral services of officers killed in the line of duty as well deaths of current and retired officers. They also attend special memorial services within the Dallas Metroplex and other functions. Some of the duties the Honor Guard provide include standing guard over a casket, escorting bereaved family members, flag ceremonies, twenty-one gun salutes and the playing of taps among others. All members of the Police Honor Guard are exemplary Rowlett Police Officers. Each year during Law Enforcement Memorial Week the Rowlett Police Department's Honor Guard along with Honor Guards from other area departments attend a special memorial service honoring all the officers who have given their lives to protect the citizens of the Dallas Metroplex, Texas and the United States.
