Crime Scene Search
|
The Crime Scene Search Unit (CSS) is one of the most interesting and complicated jobs in the police department. It is the job of the CSS to respond to the scenes of major crimes (burglary, robbery, aggravated assault, homicide, etc.) and search for, recover, and preserve evidence such as fingerprints, blood splatter evidence, tool marks, etc. that is used to connect the perpetrator to the crime. Crime Scene Investigators must train constantly to keep abreast of new techniques in evidence recovery and collection. All police officers attend basic crime scene search classes as part of their required basic training. Officers who express interest and show exceptional skills are sent to advanced training and become Crime Scene Investigators.
Lt. David Nabors is the Crime Scene Search Unit supervisor and can be contacted at (972)412-6215 or by email.
