Divisions
|
The City of Rowlett Police Department is composed of three Divisions and a Traffic Unit, which are work centers for various specialized tasks.
Individual officers are assigned to a Division and given specialized training specific to the tasks assigned.
Patrol Division
Uniformed Officers seen driving marked partol vehicles, answering calls, and working traffic accidents are members of the Patrol Division. These officers are generally the first point of contact for citizens seeking assistance.
Criminal Investigations Division
Also known as the Detective Division. All Offense Reports taken by officers of the Patrol Division are directed to CID. They are responsible for the follow-up investigation of crimes.
Support Services Division
Composed of Certified Police Officers and Civilians, the Support Services Division provides records management, maintenance, communications, quartermaster, and administrative support for the Patrol Division and the Criminal Investigations Division.
Traffic Division
Composed of one Lieutenant and 4 Certified Police Officers , the Traffic Division operates various traffic regulation enforcement and safety programs, volume surveys, and addresses special vehicle related issues.
