Driving Directions
- Google Maps
Search for addresses, find businesses, or get driving directions. The My Maps feature also allows users to saved personalized, annotated maps and share them with friends and family.
- MSN Maps
The MSN Maps & Directions web site allows user to map street addresses in the United States, Canada, and some European countries, locate place names world wide, and obtain driving directions within the United States.
- Mapquest
At Mapquest.com, use the Maps option to find a map for addresses worldwide, choose Driving Directions to obtain the fastest, shortest, or avoiding highways routes between addresses in North America and Europe, select the Trip Planner to find detailed driving directions, hotels, destination guides and more for a one-way or round-trip, or use the Yellow Pages to find businesses in any city without knowing the address.
- Yahoo! Maps
Yahoo! Maps provides users with maps for addresses in the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom; maps for businesses in the United States by city/state or zip code; and driving directions between any two addresses in the United States and Canada. [back to top]
Maps/Atlas
- Atlapedia
At Atlapedia.com select between political and physical maps, then choose select a country from the alphabetical list. To find additional information for a country, such as population, geography, climate, religion, and history, select the countries link from the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.
- Broer Map Library: Online Historic Maps
Here you will find a collection of thousands of historic maps from around the world including foreign language atlases and road atlases from many eras. Maps are organized by region.
- Information Please Atlas
The Information Please Atlas provides maps, profiles, and flags for countries and regions worldwide, as well as U.S. states. To find more detailed maps and information select a region from the world map on the home page or use the map index.
- Lonely Planet
A resource for students, travelers, and those interested in world geography, the Lonely Planet web site provides information about the history and culture of a country as well as maps and travel suggestions. To locate a map select a region from the world map provided. To locate a country profile, use the drop down menus for region and country or enter a destination into the search box.
- National Geographic
From the National Geographic Maps and Geography web site, use the Map Machine to find world maps, United States maps, street maps (U.S., Canada, and Europe), and historical maps. Also available are atlas updates, recommended links, country profiles, games, and separate sections for kids, teachers, parents, and students.
- Perry-Castaneda Map Collection (UT-Austin)
The online Perry-Castaneda Library Map Collection includes political and./or physical maps for the following categories: World, Africa, the Americas, Asia, Australia and the Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, Polar regions and oceans, Russia and the former Soviet Republics, the United States, U.S. National Parks and Monuments, Texas, Texas Counties, and Historical maps.
- TopoZone - Topographic maps
TopoZone.com provides online access to every U.S. Geological Survey 1:100,000, 1:63,360, 1:50,000, 1:30,000, 1:25,000, 1:24,000, and 1:20,000 scale topographic map for the entire United States. To find a map, search by place name, latitude and longitude, or UTM (Universal Transverse Mercator) coordinates.
- World Sites Atlas
From the World Sites Atlas home page, select the Maps Collection to find physical and political maps for continents/regions, countries, U.S. States, and Canadian provinces. The maps are organized alphabetically within the continent group. To find a physical map, use the physical atlas link near the bottom of the Maps Collection page. - Association of American Geographers
The Association of American Geographers (AAG) web site provides information about the organization, membership opportunities, the annual meeting, jobs in geography, education resources, AAG publications and events, and geography related news.
- Geography World
Geography World is an index of geography related web sites created by a Pennsylvania Geography teacher. The topics are listed in alphabetical order but can also be searched for keywords.
- U.S. Geological Survey
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Geography web pages include information about the division, maps, geo-spatial data, geographic names, publications, tools, services, and access to the National Map and the National Map Viewer. The National Map provides public access to high-quality geo-spatial data and information from multiple partners. [back to top]
