  • National Endowment for the Arts
    Provides features and resources on the arts, artists, and art organizations, as well as information about federal, state, and local funding opportunities for arts initiatives.
  • Art Daily
    The first online art newspaper, this site provides news, special reports, photos, and links to museums, exhibits, artists’ homepages, schools, digital art resources, art history resources, auctions, and fairs. A variety of art related quizzes, games and anecdotes are also available.
  • Art and Design (Smithsonian Institute)
    Divided in to categories by artist, fields, and cultures, this site includes articles, features, online exhibits, and more from the Smithsonian institute.
  • Artcyclopedia
    Covering fields such as painting, sculpture, photography, architecture, decorative arts, installation art, digital art, and folk art, the Artcyclopedia indexes more than 7,000 artists. The links for each artist are categorized under museums/galleries, articles, images, web sites, and multimedia.
  • Art History Resources
    An online guide to art history, this site organizes web resources in outline style by period, region, and type. The resources cover art and artists from Prehistoric times through the 21st Century and the regions of Asia, Africa, and Europe.
  • ArtLex
    ArtLex is a growing online dictionary of art terms. It currently contains more than 3,300 terms, with supporting images, pronunciation notes, quotations, and cross-references. The entries come from a variety of sources, such as The Oxford Dictionary of Art (1993), The Art & Artist's Quotation Book (1995), and ArtSpoke: A Guide to Modern Idea, Movements, and Buzzwords (1993).
  • ArtSource
    A selective list of art related web resources, this site also contains original materials submitted by librarians, artists, and art historians. The contents include: art and architecture resources, programs, libraries, museums, artist’s projects, events, image collections, electronic exhibitions, art journals online, new media, vendor information, and organizations.
  • ArtUSA
    Provided by Americans for the Arts, this site offers research and resources for art education, funding, advocacy, community development, and individual artists. Book reviews, quotations, awards, an events calendar, and audio and video clips are also presented.
  • Cities and Buildings Database (Univ. of Washington)
    The Cities and Buildings Database is an online collection of over 5,000 digitized images of cities and buildings from across time and throughout the world. Buildings can be searched by country, city, style, title, architect, and date of construction.
  • Texas Association of Museums
    The Texas Association of Museums web site includes a database of Texas museums with information such as location, history, facilities, collections, programs, staff, and publications, as well as links to museum resources, membership information, and other Texas Museum related happenings.

  • Amon Carter Museum
    This site provides the address, hours, collection and exhibition information, news releases, and calendar of the Amon Carter Museum. Additionally, education resources, an online library catalog and online store are made available.
  • Dallas Museum of Art

  • Kimbell Art Museum (Fort Worth)
    Providing access to collection images and descriptions, the Kimbell Art Museum web site also offers general information, programs and services details, exhibit news. The museum shop, virtual tour, and membership options are also provided.
  • Sid Richardson Collection of Western Art (Fort Worth)
    Complimenting the museum’s permanent exhibit of paintings by premier Western artists, this web site offers a history of the museum, biographies of Sid Richardson, Frederic Remington and Charles M. Russell, museum merchandise, and information about the collection and programs.

  • Metropolitan Museum of Art
    Opening with a daily featured artwork, the Metropolitan Museum of Art web site offers a variety of educational resources together with information about the collection, special exhibits, museum news and the museum store. The Metropolitan Museum of Art offers a special section of the web site for children.
  • Smithsonian American Art Museum
    Visit the web site of the Smithsonian American Art Museum to find information about the collections and exhibits, news, membership, location, staff and history of the museum. Other sections include educational resources, a museum shop, and calendar.
  • Museums of the World
    At Museums of the World search for museums, events, exhibits, or galleries by maps or categories, participate in discussion-lists, read about artists and artwork, or browse Top 100 museum lists.
  • National Gallery of Art
    The National Gallery of Art (NGA) web site provides information about visiting the gallery, resources for teachers, and family activities. A gallery shop, online collection tours, and a link to the NGA Kids pages are also available.
