Library Volunteer Help Wanted!!!

  • Are you sixteen or older?
  • Are you looking for a creative way to give back to your community?
  • Are you interested in learning more about how libraries operate?
  • Are you interested in helping adult students earn a GED? 
  • Do you have a hobby, interest, or talent you would like to share with others?


Volunteer Duties:  Interested volunteers may fill out a volunteer application at the reference desk.  The volunteer coordinator will contact you to discuss scheduling and what volunteer opportunities you might like to pursue.  Volunteers at the Rowlett Public Library do a variety of jobs including assisting with programming, shelving, and GED tutoring. 

Programming Opportunities:  If you have a hobby, talent or interest that you would like to share with others, contact the library at (972) 412-6176.  Our program coordinator will contact you to discuss potential programming opportunities with the Rowlett Public Library.

Displays Wanted:  Do you have an interesting collection that you would like to display at the Rowlett Public Library?  Contact our display coordinator at (972) 412-6161 to reserve one of our display cases.  

Call (972) 412-6161 if you are interested in becoming a volunteer.  Complete 12 hours of volunteer service with the City of Rowlett and continue to contribute 12 hours per month and you are eligible to apply for internal job openings with the city.
