Rowlett offers a strong, stable environment for business success.

Rowlett adopted a comprehensive Economic Development Strategic Plan that was implemented in the 2002-2003 fiscal year to foster more growth, attract new businesses and retain and support existing Rowlett businesses.

Recent fiscal achievements include:

-Increasing the City’s commercial tax value by almost $19.4 million, or 8% between 2002 and 2003.  The value increased $27.4 million, or 10.4% between 2003-2004.

-Maintaining upward trend in sales tax revenues with conservative estimations for the Fiscal Year 2004-2005 at $3.3 million, a 7.9 percent increase from the adopted Fiscal Year 2003-2004 estimated collections.

-Moody's Investors Service and Standard & Poor's assigned positive ratings and a stable outlook to the City of Rowlett's recent bond sales conducted September 14, 2004.

Both investor services cited numerous factors including Rowlett's solid financial position, a manageable capital improvement plan and ongoing tax base expansion as factors contributing to its positive ratings.
